MediumĀ Bio:
Alison is an Au/ADHD coach, parent educator, speaker and founder of Our Neurodiverse Family, a platform supporting neurodivergent families to better understand themselves and create more sustainable, connected home lives.

A former teacher and mother of four neurodivergent boys, Alison combines professional training with deep lived experience. Alison is also Au/ADHD herself, giving her a uniquely personal understanding of the complexity, beauty and challenges of neurodivergent family life.

After years of navigating appointments, waitlists, burnout and chronic over-functioning, Alison recognised that many families are trying to survive within systems that were never designed for them. Through coaching, education, speaking and podcasting, she now helps parents move from overwhelmed, confused and directionless to focused, clear and prepared.

LongĀ Bio:

Alison is an Au/ADHD coach, parent educator, speaker, podcast host and founder of Our Neurodiverse Family, a growing platform dedicated to supporting neurodivergent families.

As a former teacher, Au/ADHD woman and mother of four neurodivergent boys, Alison brings a rare combination of professional insight, lived experience and deeply practical wisdom to the families she supports. Her work sits at the intersection of neurodivergence, family systems, maternal wellbeing and sustainable home functioning.

Alison’s turning point came after years of trying to hold everything together: managing appointments, school challenges, emotional dysregulation, family logistics and the relentless mental load that so many mothers quietly carry. She saw firsthand how easily neurodivergent children can be misunderstood and pathologised, and how often parents are left overwhelmed, under-supported and unsure where to turn.

Rather than accepting chaos and burnout as inevitable, Alison began searching for a better way. That journey led her to coaching, further study, and ultimately the creation of Our Neurodiverse Family.

Today, Alison helps parents move from overwhelm, confusion and constant firefighting to greater clarity, confidence and connection. Her approach combines nervous system awareness, practical family systems, compassionate education and honest conversation.

Known for her warmth, insight and ability to articulate the invisible mental load carried by many mothers, Alison creates spaces where families feel deeply seen, understood and supported. Her work challenges conventional parenting narratives and invites families to build lives that genuinely work for their unique needs.

At the heart of Alison’s work is a simple belief: families thrive not when they force themselves into rigid systems, but when they understand themselves well enough to create ones that truly fit.
